 On April 23, the new AITO M5 series was officially launched. The new car has a total of 3 configurations, which are still divided into two power forms: pure electric and extended range. Among them, the extended-range version is equipped with a battery pack with a capacity of 42kWh, and the guide price is 249,800 yuan/279,800 yuan; the pure electric version is equipped with a battery pack with a capacity of 83kWh, with a guide price of 269,800 yuan.

As a model focused on youth sports, the AITO M5 series is equipped with an all-aluminum alloy chassis as standard, equipped with hard-core equipment such as front four-ball double wishbones and rear multi-link independent suspension. In terms of intelligence, all series are equipped with HUAWEI ADS high-end intelligent driving system and HarmonyOS cockpit as standard. The new AITO M5 has a number of new upgrades from the inside out, and for the first time, a younger version of the RS version with a more extreme performance experience is launched. The guide price of the AITO M5 extended-range Max RS four-wheel drive high-end intelligent driving version is 279,800 yuan, and the acceleration time from 0 to 0-10 is only 4.3 seconds.

The new AITO M5 - upgraded firepower 

M5 is the pioneer of the AITO series. Once it came out, it was recognized for its chassis texture and control experience. The real work in the Fire World series is undoubtedly the M7, but several important labels on the M5 such as HUAWEI ADS and HarmonyOS Hongmeng cockpit cannot be ignored. The new Wenjie M5 does not adopt a low-price strategy. The starting guide price is the same as the Wenjie M7 at 249,800 yuan, and the top-end version is equivalent to the mid-to-high-end version of the M7. This may also indicate from the side that the model responsible for the volume in the Wenjie series will continue to be the M7, while the new AITO M5 focuses on a younger and more extreme sports experience.

AITO M5 basically continues the previous design and is built based on the ultimate, simple and pure sports SUV design concept. However, the new model also has quite a few changes, mainly reflected in the front face. The air intake grille of the new extended-range version AITO M5 has been significantly reduced, and the air intake is almost hidden in the blackened area below, so the extended-range version looks very close to the pure electric version.

The length, width and height of AITO M5 are 4785/1930/1620mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 2880mm. The new model adds two new body colors: "Metropolitan Red" and "Tahiti Grey". Combined with the RS version's red calipers, Obsidian logo, Obsidian window trim, Obsidian sports wheels and other equipment, the coolness can be said to be very high. The high-end assisted driving system has always been the core selling point of the Wenjie series, and it is also the breaking point that arouses netizens' spontaneous "free publicity". Pay attention to the roof part above the front windshield. The new AITO M5 series is equipped with lidar as standard. Combined with the fact that all new car series are equipped with HUAWEI ADS as standard, perhaps this is also the source of confidence that the starting price of the M5 is consistent with the M7.

In terms of electric power, the new version of AITO M5 extended range version is equipped with a 1.5T range extender. In terms of the maximum power and torque parameters of the electric drive system, the two-wheel drive version is 200kW/360N·m, and the four-wheel drive version is 365kW/675N·m. The pure electric comprehensive cruising range can reach 255km, which is much higher than the mainstream level. The comprehensive maximum cruising range can reach 1440km, which is also higher than the mainstream average. Regarding the pure electric version, the new AITO M5 only retains the rear-drive model, with a maximum output power and torque of 200kW/360N·m, and a CLTC pure electric range of 602km.

In the cockpit, the new AITO M5 series has been upgraded with "Shuyun seats" made of the same material as the Wenjie M9, which has improved support and softness. In addition, in response to users' high demand for mobile phone charging, the new AITO M5 has been upgraded with two 50W wireless super fast charges and three 66W wired super fast charges, and is equipped with an intelligent air mixing system that supports rapid cooling and heating. The configuration of the new AITO M5 continues to "leapfrog" within the family. For example, the new car has added star ring diffusers of the same series as the M9, and paired with HUAWEI SOUND speakers, the sound quality and atmosphere have been upgraded. In addition, the new car's super desktop, Hongmeng Free and other functions can be combined with the dual magic suction car interface and Xiaoyi smart voice assistant to allow users to have a more immersive smart cockpit experience.

As mentioned earlier, the new AITO M5 series comes standard with the "HUAWEI ADS 2.0 high-end intelligent driving system" and is equipped with high-speed and urban high-end intelligent driving functions that do not rely on high-precision maps. In smart electric vehicles, smart driving and active safety can almost be understood as the same thing. The new AITO M5 series has been upgraded with front/side/rear anti-collision functions. In terms of forward anti-collision capabilities, when the vehicle faces stationary vehicles and pedestrians, the maximum speed of AEB braking is increased to 120km/h. The lateral anti-collision function supports active identification of obstacles, with an effective speed range of 40-130km/h; the rear anti-collision function supports active identification of crossing pedestrians, crossing vehicles, and moving two-wheelers, with an effective speed range of 1-60km/h. h, thereby further ensuring reversing safety.
